About Artist Rob Mullett

Rob Mullett was born in 1972 in Stourbridge, West Midlands (UK). He attended Britannia High School and showed an early talent for detailed pencil and charcoal drawings, often illustrating his school essays with ball point pen drawings, much to the annoyance of his school teachers!

Rob left school with no formal art qualifications and shortly afterwards joined H.M Armed Forces, serving with the 1st Battalion Irish Guards, both in the UK and Overseas. Whilst on active service operations in Hong Kong and the Middle East, Rob would often draw cartoon characters, just to amuse his colleagues.

On leaving the army in 1998, Rob worked in the West Midlands for the Emergency Services until he was unfortunately seriously injured, being the innocent victim of a motorcycle road traffic collision.

Robs injuries required several months of surgery and rehabilitation. It was during this period of inactivity, that he developed his talent for drawing.

Now Rob lives in Worcestershire with his family and when not working on portraits, enjoys spending time cycling, running and walking his Irish and English setter dogs.
